At the origin of creation, everything is unity. Everything comes from the ONE. Everything flows from this primordial principle. Before the manifestation, everything is homogeneous, undifferentiated. Everything emanates from a common essence. But to incarnate in matter in order to live experiences of pleasure and pain, this unmanifested unitary state must be broken into duality in order to exist.
Unitary consciousness on one side, dual matter on the other. This division of the primordial unity devolves into duality through incarnation. These numerous descending radiations proceed directly from the highest cause – the imperceptible and ineffable absolute, the spiritual light of the world. Once the earth forms are created; their absolute and total meaning is then lost, and the meaning of separation established. This duality exists through a tension between two poles, two opposite aspects of the embodied primordial principle.
Life appears and then becomes polarized, everything is characterized by this double aspect: spirit and matter, masculine and feminine, visible and invisible, mobile and inert, darkness and light… wanting to reconcile these two poles or eliminate one is impossible because it is the basis of life. Because nature generates life by means of polarities, mixing and fertilizing. Existence needs this dual basis to become conscious of itself, through duality and their inherent tension.
What would emptiness be without fullness? The masculine without the feminine? This tension and the meeting of opposing energies fertilize each other, generating growth of life. No tension, no progression of life. It’s guaranteed death!
Light is not aware of itself, but can perceive its reflection in matter. This deep esoteric truth allows us to conceive the purpose of life, absolute consciousness becoming aware of itself through its experience in matter. The primordial unity therefore becomes fragmented, the essence being unity and the manifestation duality. The spirit is broken and divided as it descends into matter, where it encounters increasing resistance. Life descends, falling from the summit of its unity, dividing into the arms of matter. Division is therefore necessary.
Then the ascent begins from multiplicity to unity through the accomplishment and evolution of consciousness. The elevation of the soul then passes from the state of separation to that of unity. Growth, from the perspective of human evolution, is a process from heterogeneity to homogeneity.
