Let’s take two people who have to face life’s challenges: one will fall into depression and even drugs, out of despair. The other will succeed in showing resilience and will come out stronger from these episodes of life. What is the difference between these two people? Having, or not, a philosophy of life. These two people can be part of the same socio-cultural category and have the same sensitivities. What really distinguishes them is having or not having a philosophical anchor.

We are talking here about a living philosophy, with a spiritual consistency. It is not an abstract or intellectual philosophy, nor beliefs, dogmas or ideologies. It is a real philosophy, developed over the years of life: bringing meaning to our reality, a sense to all events, a connection to higher aspects. This vast distinction of consciousness between people is particularly revealed during difficult times, crises: some will be affected to the point of losing their footing, others will be able to bounce back and prosper. The latter will have been able to transcend painful and happy situations, by finding in them a meaning beyond their appearances, a higher purpose and a spiritual meaning.

This philosophy brings a true meaning to life, a knowledge of divine laws, of the depths of the human psyche and of the mysteries of existence. Without it, life can quickly become merciless. Humans who have lost their compass of conscience can feel lost in an ocean of absurdities and insignificance, having no other choice but to suffer. They can then turn to despair and drugs, to nihilism and the virtual to escape this so tragic reality.

A spiritual philosophy can transform life into a spiritual adventure, can bring magic and joy despite the pains and trials. It is a new map of existence that can be drawn by a change of outlook, a reversal of perspective, a progressive development of the inner life. Escape to drugs or the virtual become irrelevant in this case. It is not a resistance to temptation, but a loss of interest. Having a philosophy of life anchored in the spiritual dimension brings a deep and superior meaning to suffering, and contact with reality then becomes more important than seeking to escape it.

Faced with multiple crises and the global context, the solution does not lie in a change of policy, nor in economic reforms or technological innovations. The dice have been loaded from the start, the situation is deliberately degraded, everything is designated for enslavement and decline. It is impossible to repair our world by material means. Only a change of consciousness can bring a new relationship to the world and a profound modification of societies. Only a spiritual philosophy anchored and concrete can help us to heal and prosper.
